The Federalist No. 10

The Federalist No. 10
The Utility of the Union as a Safeguard Against Domestic Faction and Insurrection (continued)
Thursday, November 22, 1787
[James Madison]

“The latent causes of faction are thus sown in the nature of man; and we see them everywhere brought into different degrees of activity, according to the different circumstances of civil society. A zeal for different opinions concerning religion, concerning government, and many other points, as well of speculation as of practice; an attachment to different leaders ambitiously contending for pre-eminence and power;”

Many people believe they have always their reason, only because they do not care about other’s opinion. They only want to accept their opinions and validate what could be good for them. Always the power is in the size which have people. “No man is allowed to be a judge in his own cause, because his interest would certainly bias his judgment, and, not improbable, corrupt his integrity.” This phrase is 100% true. Nobody will judge himself for the crimes that he/she commits. The person only can see other’s mistakes. It continues being like throw the rock and hide the hand. In my opinion, in the politic system we never know the whole truth, here it is when the justice try to find the proof to justify our crimes. James Madison could think that when the government or people try to repair or resolve the wrong ways that a country is being conducted by the faction, they try to find what the causes are and try to establish the manner for avoiding conflicts. In this articles, we can find this expression, “There are two methods of curing the mischiefs of faction: the one, by removing its causes; the other, by controlling its effects.” When people see that the faction is not doing or following according in the ways they want instead of finding cure also they try to control the effects. This is probability to avoid conflicts and try to deal with the society issues in adequate forms.
